The new 440,000 square foot Spring, Texas campus for Hewlett Packard Enterprises sought to be a model for the modern workplace, embracing both the new emphasis on hybrid workplaces and employee wellness. With 80% of the employees working at least partly remotely, but encouraged to come to the campus for collaboration, the interior design focused on spaces that were conducive to a wide variety of collaboration groups, as well as to make space for individual needs with soundproof pods and sit/stand desks. The lighting supported this goal by being flexible for future needs and configurations while also helping define specific gathering places instead of looking towards the old model of rows and rows of open office lighting. HPE desired their work space to be an inviting and invigorating space to come, and lighting supported this goal with a dynamic and exciting design.
